Trip to Tetons and Yellowstone

It's hard to believe that August is already over! It feels like our summer disappeared overnight. Of course, most of the summer has been spent working on remodeling our kitchen, which is coming along nicely. We are almost finished with the kitchen, but we still need to work on the family room/dining room. I'm going to have to re-teach myself how to cook since it's been almost three months since I've had to.
Toward the end of the month, I told Nate that we needed a vacation and a break from the house. We decided to take a short trip to Jackson, Tetons, and Yellowstone. Nate hasn't been to Yellowstone since he was a kid and I remember going with Laura and Pete a few times growing up. The scenery is so beautiful up there! We stayed a night in Jackson and hiked in the Tetons the next morning. We enjoyed spending time together outdoors although Avery started getting cranky toward the late afternoon without a nap. The next day we went to Yellowstone and saw different wildlife and geysers. Throughout the trip, we stayed in three different hotels. Avery's favorite part of the trip was going swimming everyday at each of the hotels. She loves swimming and even asked to swim in the geysers at Yellowstone! We had a nice time away from the house and day to day life.

No naps on vacation makes Avery pass out anywhere. She's sleeping in a restaurant booth here.

Hiking in Tetons
We took a two hour hike to Taggart Lake, so beautiful!

Picnicking on Jenny Lake in Tetons
Nate taught me how to skip rocks! I skipped my first rock ever! (I know, I'm a nerd to be proud of that)

Avery was so excited that her jacket matched this geyser
